Lake Norfork
The highlight of any trip to Lake Norfork is getting out on the beautiful clean, clear water. There are very strict guidelines restricting any development around the lake which is the reason it remains so natural, quiet and clean. Lake Norfork is one of the most exclusive lakes in the region. However these restrictions also applies to boat docks which are very limited, so there is not direct water access from the house. Fortunately, there is a full service marina only 10 minutes away which offers a variety of boats for rent, along with gas, supplies etc. It is impeccably maintained and has slopes for wheelchair access etc. If you have your own boat and trailer, there is ramp access less than a mile away. We also have a 24 ft pontoon to offer you for rental during your stay.
It would be a shame to waste the crystal clear, mirror smooth waters of Lake Norfork, especially as most days you will have the whole lake to yourself. Waterski, slalom ski, wakeboard, kneeboard, tube, jetski - or just swim. The underwater wrecks and variety of fish make scuba diving a popular sport. It is even possible to get your open water certification at the lake. Just 20 minutes by boat will bring you to Sand Island and a choice of soft, golden sandy beaches which slope gently into the warm clear water of the lake (please note that the beaches are not available when the water is high). Don't forget your bucket and shovel! Kids will love collecting the tiny seashells, and we recommend a family BBQ on the beach, while you watch the sunset.
